Colette Boushell was born in Dublin and is an honours graduate of the BMus and MMus programmes at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama Dublin, and of the International Opera School of the Royal College of Music, London where she studied under Lillian Watson. During her time as a student, she won many scholarships and awards and graduated from the RCM with the McCulloch Prize for Opera.

Colette is an experienced recitalist and performer, having sung much of the popular concert repertoire in many prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Canterbury Cathedral, Händel Halle in Halle Germany, Sancta Maria Cathedral Tokyo, Aichi Arts Center Nagoya, Musashino Hall Tokyo and Izumi Concert Hall in Osaka.
