About the event
Dulcie May Moreno is no stranger to Tyneside. Born in Newcastle, at the age of six Dulcie’s family relocated to Kent. In her teens Dulcie began busking on the streets, writing poetry and penning lyrics to original songs.
From intimate café/coffee shop residencies and jazz club appearances across the south east of England to performing in the spectacular setting of Canterbury Cathedral to a sold-out appearance at Ronnie Scott’s, Dulcie is the consummate jazz singer. Chet Baker and Sheila Jordan are acknowledged influences and this Jazz at the Lit & Phil concert, featuring Mark Williams (guitar), Mick Shoulder (double bass) and John Bradford (drums), will be comprised of a selection of jazz standards and original compositions.
